Transfer Campus Visits

We have re-opened the SMU Office of Undergraduate Admission to host in-person information sessions and student ambassador led tours (at reduced group sizes). In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, several precautions have been put into place to ensure the safety of you, your family, and our staff during these events. You will be emailed a complete list of these measures upon your registration.

Transfer campus visits are offered on Fridays at 10:30 am CST.

We continue to monitor the COVID-19 pandemic and will post new dates to the schedule below as the situation allows.

Each daily visit consists of a 30-minute information session, and a one-hour campus tour led by a current SMU student. If you still have questions after your visit, Admission Counselors will be available to meet with you at a safe distance to give you information on the admission and financial aid processes.

Registration is required for all visitors, including guests. If registration appears full on your preferred date it is likely because we have met capacity for that date. If we need to cancel our daily visits, we will notify those registered as soon as possible. Please know that we are carefully monitoring the situation around COVID-19 and all decisions will be made for the health and safety of our guests and staff.

    B
ecause of the COVID-19 pandemic, all tours have been modified accordingly:

    • All visitors (in addition to SMU faculty, staff, and students) are required to wear masks while inside of the Laura Lee Blanton Building. This is in accordance with the June 19, 2020, Dallas County ordinance.
    • Information sessions are limited to 20 guests per session. Please note, all academic sessions have been pre-recorded. Please click here to access the videos.
    • After the information session, SMU student ambassadors will take you on a one-hour guided walking tour of the campus.
      • Tour guides will be equipped with microphones to allow safe distances between tour groups.
      • Many of the buildings on the SMU campus are closed to the public (including dining halls), so the tour will be conducted entirely outside.
      • Texas summers can be quite hot. Please plan to bring a water bottle with you, as our water fountains are currently out of service as a preventative measure.

To register, select your desired visit date from the calendar at right, and then select the visit option at the bottom of this page.
