Dear Dante,
Thank you so much for booking a visit to meet with students from St. Joseph's Academy, we are eager to welcome you to our community.
VISIT DETAILS - we encourage you to have some type of visual element to your presentation and to be prepared to offer ~15 mins of info on your institution, plus offer ~15 mins of Q&A - plan to stay for the entire session, a member of our College Advising Council will be taking notes for any students not able to attend in person - we will take any time that you are not with students to ask questions, connect, and hear about updates - for lunch visits: these are *NOT* cafeteria-style, you’ll be in your own space
PARKING - NEW THIS YEAR: - please park in the lot in the front of the building (near the flagpole) - enter through the main entrance to check in at the School Office - NOTE: parking is no longer available on the backside of the school for visitors
AVAILABLE TECHNOLOGY: - large screen with HDMI and wireless screenshare capacities - dongles, loaner laptop, etc. if needed
COMMON Q&A TOPICS: - social life opportunities (Is there Greek Life? How prevalent is it? What is the area around campus like?) - financial aid and scholarships, particularly merit aid - opportunities for young women in STEM, particularly pre-health (nursing, PA, PT, OT, pre-med) and engineering - participating in and supporting athletics (intramural through varsity) - internships/career opportunities
ACCESSIBLITY INFO: - we are on the second floor, but have a ramp and elevator available from the entrance near us - if you are parking in the front of the school there are fewer than 10 stairs - please let us know of any other accessibility needs
OTHER GOOD TO KNOWS: - we will always greet you and get you settled—please let us know if you need anything - we are close to a number of great places to eat, as well as spots for quiet work catch-up - we love offering suggestions for lattes, ice cream, bbq, salads, pad thai, etc… additionally, our campus offers nice spots to sit outside and take a break, or even fit in a short walk, let us know if you’d like to make use of the grounds - we keep a stash of the basics (bandaids, lint roller, mints, Advil, tampons/pads, granola bars, etc.) - you’re welcome to replenish or supplement your own emergency kit while you’re here - need to pump, heat up your food, put meds in the fridge, change clothes before a long car ride, or otherwise take care of life/real human needs? Please just ask—we’re here to support each other! - have other questions? Just let us know!
